Centro Restaurant, the most popular Downtown Des Moines restaurant, has become a cultural institution over the past 12 years. The owners wanted to give the restaurant a face-lift while retaining the “feel” of this very busy venue. After evaluating what created the “feel” of the space, it was determined that enhancements should focus on improved lighting, better acoustics, and higher quality furnishings. New lighting throughout the entire restaurant with excellent color rendition and dimming greatly enhanced the ambiance. A black marble bar top and all new chairs and tables elevated the aesthetic and provided greater durability to outlast the original interior finishes and furnishings.
